Sian & Rhys got married on a very wet Saturday in July. They got married on 26th July 2015 at St Mary’s church in Panteg and then held their reception at the Glen yr Afon Hotel in Usk. This had to be one of the most wettest wedding I have ever covered and the only wedding I have worn a baseball cap at just to keep dry. But the weather could not stop Rhys and Sian smiling all day and what a fantastic couple, I hit it off with them straight away. They are such a kind and loving couple.
The day started off with bridal preps at Sian’s house and a few tears were shed when the mum saw Sian in her dress. Sian and Rhys work for the Police and so it lovely when Sian turned up at the church in an old vintage police car. The heavens opened up so it was a quick dash up the path for the service. After a lovely service we headed off to the hotel for the reception. We dodged the showers to capture the group photos and take the couple for a walk around the grounds for some romantic portraits.
Rhys loves dinosaurs so they requested a fun shot of a T Rex chasing the wedding party. Well the T Rex made a quick appearance and everyone put in their best performance and screamed and ran away. (I love working with mad people).
Whenever you think of a rainy wedding day you think of dull and miserable photos but this was not the case. Everybody was relaxed, had fun and went with the flow and whatever the weather threw at them they just carried on. Whenever it rains remember wellies, umbrellas and a smile because you never know when a puddle is going to reflect your happiness.
